EUDR passport

Enter a felling permit number or a cadastre number and get a passport: EU-format GeoJSON and VMD register data in one place.

Free, no sign-up, no email: the passport opens as soon as it is created, and the GeoJSON downloads from the passport page.

What EUDR requires of timber buyers

The EU Regulation on deforestation-free products (EUDR) requires whoever places timber on the market to file a due diligence statement (DDS) stating the country of origin, the species and the geographic coordinates of the harvest plot. Plots above 4 ha need a polygon, not a point.

What the passport contains

GeoJSON of the felling areas of a permit, or of the selected stands, in the EU format; scientific species names; VMD register signals (based on the last recorded felling, including fellings after 2020); the release of the register data the passport is built on; the share of forest cover on 31.12.2020 from the EU reference map JRC GFC2020.

Who it is for

Forest owners selling standing timber and timber buyers who need the data for a due diligence statement.

Limits

With a felling permit number, the passport uses the exact felling-area boundary from VMD's public permit service. With a cadastre number, it is built from whole VMD stands, not the boundary of the future felling. In permit mode the boundary is the exact felling area, but the species and register signals describe the whole VMD stand, and for a felling area not found in the register there is no such data. Either way it states register facts, not a verdict of EUDR compliance: the filer is responsible for the risk assessment and for the statement. The forest share on 31.12.2020 comes from the JRC GFC2020 map: EU reference data, not legally binding; when the map is unavailable, no share is shown.

If you lose the passport link

We don't store your email, so we can't send the link again — save it as soon as the passport is created. If the link is lost, simply create a new passport: the old data snapshot can't be recovered.

How to build the passport

For timber buyers: passport batches

Registered buyers can paste a list of felling permits and cadastre numbers and get all the passports in one ZIP archive. Access is enabled on request.
